I recently painted a small Icon of the Virgin Mary. It is painted on wood panel with egg tempera. I used a limited range of colors and kept the composition simple.

This could fit right in with any collection of original old wood panels, and no one would know the difference. Your use of the gold leaf was really authentic as well. I look forward to your future work with egg tempera on panel.
